We are on the look out for someone really special. They want a role that doesn't hold them back. That straddles research and marketing. It offers them to have a say in the direction their career is taking. It them the opportunity to work hard, and play hard in equal amounts.
If you are a marketing geek who has a passion for stats and a particular interest in consumer habits and behaviours then this might be the role you are looking for. We also want someone who will take the work/life balance seriously as flexibility is written through our company culture like the word Brighton through a stick of rock candy and for the right person, it means flexible, remote, never miss lunch with your mum, always make a sports day kind of approach to work that we know works...because we have 25 years experience in it.

About the position
We are looking for someone to join our team working with some of the biggest names in food and agriculture to deliver insight and strategy to their operations and marketing.
The role requires a ‘sleeves rolled up, get stuck in’ approach as no two days are the same. One day could be spent designing a taste testing analysis and recruiting participants while the next may be spent working with data to discover and report on insights of the project.
You will have responsibility to manage and develop research projects that meet a broad range of objectives. Stakeholder management is an essential skill and understanding and translating the business needs of the client into actionable insight is a fundamental part of the role.
You will also be required to contribute to new business development, actively pursuing new opportunities remotely (via tenders, proposals, and social media), at events or through maintaining client relationships. You will look to actively develop your market knowledge of industry and sectors we operate in and the marketing insight and research field.
About us
We have delivered some of the most compelling research and insight in food and agriculture for over 25 years. The office is based in Warboys, just outside Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. We have an open plan barn conversion office on a farm and a purpose built audio/visual Research Hub and commercial kitchen. Being in rural Cambridgeshire there is plenty of parking and lunchtime walking!
From taste testing sausages and celery, through to 12 week-long product development trials, you will struggle to find monotony anywhere in the company. We use sound methodologies in market research to advise on innovation, strategic development and customer retention in a range of interconnected industries. We work with companies and clients who are passionate about what they do and create. We aim to match their passion and deliver bespoke and creative options to them to meet their wide ranging objectives.
Our female founded and led team was established to be able to work with agility and strong focus on a work/life balance. We make a commitment to the team that flexible working works both ways, and passionately believe that with the right balance and personal responsibility for your workload, the (rather outdated!) choice between work and life commitments doesn’t have to be made, which we find makes for a much happier team!
The company operates a very flat management structure and all members of the team are encouraged to take on responsibilities or projects that are of personal interest to them, or that they think they have the right mix of skills to excel in.
About you
You will first and foremost be a team player, as comfortable taking direction as you are giving it. You must be open to learning new ways of doing things and not shy about suggesting ideas and improvements from your own experience or point of view.
You will have strong project management experience with a lean towards innovation and doing things a little creatively. We need to see strong evidence of effective project management including co-ordinating input, managing teams, quality and budgets.
Applied qualitative or quantitative research skills are a technical requirement, while experience in marketing delivery or strategy are desirable.
You will have a proven ability to acquire new work and enjoy liaising with potential clients through networking or industry events. You might even want to try your hand at presenting or speaking.
Enthusiasm and flare for creativity of reporting and presenting results. We use the full office 365 suite, Monday.com project management software, Qualtrics experience management software and Canva for creative executions. Experience in these or similar is not essential, but it is desirable, more than anything you have to be an adaptable and enthusiastic learner!
Inductions and onboarding are provided, we are an MRS Company Partner and training and professional development is offered on a range of platforms. Twice yearly appraisals and objective settings are undertaken internally.
We have held Investors in People accreditation since 2004 and have been ISO 9001 Accredited since 2010. Healthcare plans and pension plans are also part of the contract.
